Is it the phone or just one app?
A video that loads slowly is not the same symptom as a keyboard that lags. Note whether the problem appears in one app, only online, or across the whole interface.
This avoids confusing a poor connection with a general phone fault. Compare everyday situations without running complex tests. Describe what you see rather than blaming the processor or memory straight away.
Start with the recommended checks
On Android, Google recommends checking for updates and available storage and restarting the device. Exact steps vary by manufacturer. For iPhone, use Apple’s instructions for your version.
Before deleting files, make sure you know what they contain and have a copy of what you want to keep. Deleting things to free up space can become a bigger problem than the original slowness.
Avoid many changes at once
Don’t install an unknown tool just because it promises more speed. Do the checks one at a time and look at the result in the same use. This keeps the problem understandable.
Note recent changes: a new app, an update or storage that is almost full. They are leads to look into, not proof of a cause. If the phone also heats up or switches off, mention those symptoms too.
A reset is not the first step
Erasing the phone can delete data and means you need the right logins ready to set it up again. Don’t start it without understanding the consequences and without a suitable backup.
